A Transformative BTR Connecting the Surrounding Urban Precinct
Novus on Hassall was a Design Excellence Competition held in the City of Parramatta. Our approach centred around a proportional urban outcome driven by the existing site constraints and allowable envelope.

The challenge was to break the mass down into a series vertically articulated volumes that resulted in a cluster of tall, slender tower forms that anchored the Harris and Hassall Street corner, yet minimised bulk and scale impact on the public realm.

Dynamic built form articulation, combined with a through site link created a four story, interconnected podium that houses retail, communal and commercial spaces combined in a vertically active community. This design approach resulted in dramatic space, with volume and light encouraging tenant interaction and makes Novus on Harris a place that people want to be.

The Novus on Harris design proposal contributes positively to the urban life of the precinct and connects to the broader cultural and wellbeing offering along the CBD fringe. It sets a new standard in build-to-rent offering and blurs the lines between public and private domain. Novus on Harris is a wonderful place to live, work, eat, play and experience.
